Funding update Tuesday 6thNovember

Funding group still furiously working the phone and fingers to the bone on emailing and chasing companies up about sponsorship. The kick-starter website for the Chime project is up and running currently at a total of £299, come on guys get donating on www.kickstarter.com/chime

14:46 - call to Smith Knight Fay Audi dealership, marketing manager in a meeting all day so calling back tomorrow and sending email after phone call

14:48 - call to Axe And Cleaver pub, not sure, email requested and sent

14:50 - call to Swan With Two Nicks - not interested

14:56 - call to Benson Bunch Estate Agents - probably not interested but requested email anyway, email sent

call to "Lets Play Tennis UK" earlier in the day, thought about it but not economical for them to sponsor us

Group: Funding

What is your role?

Raising funds for the project. I try to contact several architects and at the same time I have my own Hong Kong background which I try to contact several HK based architecture firms and some christians fellowship in Manchester.

How are you managing your task?

Sending emails to the aforementioned potential sponsors and conducting several phone calls. Also, I have walked to travel agencies.

What are the challenges you are facing?

There are few responses from the potential companies. For those who respond, they are still deciding and considering the project.

Any other comments?

I hope the money will be funded. I am pretty glad to work in a 60persons super group.

Detail update

Detail update Tuesday

Having somewhat changed the design, we have sent the plans regarding the foundations to an engineer, we are now waiting for a reply as to what they feel we should change or elements that will work as they are.

The core original Chime group are also currently discussing which kind of structure to use for the overall main body one option is to have angled poles holding the different layers together. The detail group are waiting for a decision from the core group so that they can begin to make final CAD drawings which they will in turn send to the contractor to cut the wood.

As far as the other details are coming along, at this point the bells have been purchased and we are awaiting delivery. The parts for the legs are here and will be constructed this week after which the bells will be added. The pulley system and bell mechanisms have been finalised and are ready to be made this week.
